April's Newsletter is about London London is one of my favorite cities. It is a wonderful city for first time travelers. It is easy to negotiate and they speak the same language, sort of! There is something for everyone and you will never be able to say, "There is nothing to do!" Here are 10 things you should know about when visiting London. 1. Buy a London Pass with Travelcard. You can purchase the pass for any number of days. You get entry into many of the attractions in the city including Westminster Abbey, The Tower of London and St. Paul's Cathedral. The Travelcard gives you unlimited use of the transportation system including the Underground and the buses. 2. The EYE. A great way to see all of the city as the wheel slowly revolves. 3. The Tower of London. The yeoman warders give tours and tell you all the stories about the nefarious goings-on over the centuries. Also, the crown jewels are here as well. 4. Thames River Cruise. A great way to see the city. 5. The Theater. There are lots of shows being performed in the West End and you can get discounted tickets in Leicester Square. 6. Trafalgar Square. This is a great spot for people watching. There is always something happening. Plus, the National Gallery and the National Portrait Gallery(my favorite) are here. 7. Buckingham Palace. Be sure to go for the changing of the Guard. In August, the Palace is open for tours. See how the Royal Family lives and entertains. 8. St. Paul's Cathedral. This Christopher Wren cathedral is magnificent. You can climb up to the Whispering Gallery in the Dome or go into the crypts below. 9. The Globe Theater. You can take a tour of the theater and it's backstage or attend a performance just like in Shakespeare's time. 10. Portobello Road. A great place for shopping. It goes on for many blocks and offers food, clothing and all kinds of stuff. Something for everyone. I hope that you get to visit London in the future and are able to enjoy all that it has to offer.
